DevSecOps is a software development methodology that combines aspects of software development (Dev), security (Sec) and operations (Ops). It is a practice that encourages the development, deployment, and monitoring of software applications in a collaborative working environment among developers, security teams, and system operators.

In the past, the role of security affected purely the final phase of development entrusted to a specific team. Now **security is everyone’s responsibility**, integrated from start to finish, which is why the term “DevSecOps” was coined to emphasize how critical it is to create a secure foundation for DevOps initiatives.
